hopeless
that is the only word to describe my directional capabilities.
my current location: just outside of romsey. england [the southern coast] in house number 13 located on ashdown way.
that is where i started off this morning about 11 oclock with grand intentions to walk to a hardware house- pick up an adaptor- and then from there, make it to the train station and head to south hampton to see what...

new digs due to ferry trips
[knock knock knock] it’s 5:20.
those were the first few words to my morning two days ago that started one of the more frantic trips under the overarching. i was supposed to go to bed early the night before, i was supposed to get my bag packed before the morning of, and i was supposed to hear my alarm go off [in general]. 0 out of three is bad. 5:20 in the morning 10 minutes to get your...
she’s found her comfort zone.
– alan sr.
the night before i left bellefontaine was full of the usual, getting ready for tuesday morning, telling myself that i was going to go to bed earlier than i actually did [eventually adding up to 2.2 hours of sleep total] and good time spent with the hunter clan.
what alan said made me...
eight euros
that was the price that allowed me and my feet to experience something new and wonderful in the form of small buckled blue flats.
the progression of my shoes has gone as follows:
i. tiva flip flops: used for about two months: had for about two years: still trucking but hibernating in the bottom of my bag waiting to be set free in the light of spring.
ii. new balance shoes [tennis and...
happy birthday alan [sr.]!!
last night [birthday eve] and today [birthday day] were devoted to the celebration of all things alan hunter sr.
the morning started early for him and about 9 other guys who went out golfing in dinard and the night ended up with him being surrounded by many friends and family singing along with karaoke madness until goodness remembers when in the am.
celebrating somebody’s existance...
just in case you were wondering:

if there were a better movie to suit the area i am in i wouldn’t know what it would be. but last night i watched saving private ryan for the second time and saw it in a new light. the cemetary and beaches familiarity [as visited two weeks ago] combined with the...
kilometers
today we [nathan, alan, adam, yours truly] went on a walk. i was told originally that it was to go to the “magic shop” [a grocery store where people go in for a loaf of bread and come out with a beer] located about twenty minutes away to which we took a short [read: steep]cut to get to.
it wasn’t until we reached it in the small town that it claims until alan and nathan realized that it was...

as we have been traveling around europe certain songs have always been found in the backgrounds of stores, through the halls that we have worked in and in the forms of transportation we choose to take advantage of. for the past month we have been hit with the uk top 20 bombs of flashy videos and sexy dancing and catchy choruses.
because it is an everyday i wanted to give you a piece of it:

where in the world is bunde →
as of two days ago beth left beautifully foggy normand[me] and headed south to taize. there she will be attending a conference that is held weekly for anyone who wants to attend from anywhere around the world.
an exciting group of familiar faces awaited her as a class from hastings that has been traveling in europe over interim [a period of time between first and second semester where they get...

dear mr. president:
you looked nice today all dressed up with your red tie accompanied by your bundled up family, your words were well spoken and oath taken eagerly. i hope that your move goes smoothly, and that your office is warm and cozy, because as it would seem- you have a lot on your plate.
i think you can do it. i think you can empower us as a people to reach our potential that hangs...
out.ting!
after an afternoon of cottage cleaning and delicious lunch we were off to pick up a sweet deal that Claudia and alan sr. found online for exercise equipment. we closed up the place, piled into the car and headed off to pick Nathan up from school. meeting him on the way he hopped in and we were off with empty trailer in tow.
soon after picking up Nathan we were dropped off to galavant for a...
french fri[day]s
past the holiday season here at bellefontaine park, where they used to be open seven days a week, we are now closed all hours of the days not including friday and saturday.
seeing as how we are in france, inspite of the amount of english- english that is constantly reminding me that i don’t have a fun accent, there are usually a group of french that come into eat drink and be entertaining...
out of our element
europe as a whole is more approachable to me than cleaning and organizing a shed.
and that is what today held for us. piles were made, power tools, hand tools, old school tools and decorating tools. organizing commands were given and received by cold hands and progress was made in between lunch and the sun going down over the normandy sky treeline.
saws were hung, nails collected and spiders...
today and d day
we have been back in bellefontaine park for a few days dwelling in the continuing kindness offered by the family that i have had the privilege to live in and around for the past three weeks.
today we all got up early and decidedly got all of the things that we needed to get done, done by about noon[ish] and then headed out a bit later than we thought we would.
that meant that after about an hour...
merry new years i hope you had a happy christmas...
how was your christmas and new years?!
I hope that it was great and that you were surrounded by all those who you love and love you so much.
christmas here was good. nothing like what I am used to but, that is what europe seems to be about. for christmas the park [belle fontaine] had two families on site so we needed to set up good times for them which involved a champagne breakfast with...
